BTW, do you guys live in a place where there isn't much light pollution? I've heard that light pollution is a big issue for astrophotography, maybe not for the moon but surely for other fainter things in the sky.
It is a small coastal town we live in so even if there is light pollution is not as bad as in the cities. That being said the conditions for astrophotography are quite bad. For the Moon it does not matter, but for galaxies/nebulas it makes a massive difference to be in a darker place.
