@inference @puniko There is a good chance that a lot of people just missed your post, they don't have to be trying to avoid you or anything. This happens with me a lot, I can't keep up with my timeline so I miss a lot of posts. The list feature in mastodon helps with this a lot, I use it to organize accounts into different categories of interest like FOSS, Privacy, Science, Art, Photography, etc. But in the end I only have so much time, so I still miss out on a lot of posts.......
Remember that mastodon doesn't have any algorithms, all the posts in your timeline appear in chronological order. You can try boosting your own posts at a different time to reach people on different time-zones, a lot of people on fedi do this.
BTW not getting any interaction for a post doesn't always mean people are avoiding you, sometimes they just don't have any anything to say about the post, lol
@thebiologist1117 I also sometimes just mention people if I think they'll be interested in the post, but I only do that with people I'm already friends with :)
@email@example.com For a while now, I've been thinking about what the best way to make friends on the fediverse is... It has something to do with the number of positive interactions you have with someone, and if you have enough of them, they become your friend... so... what's the easiest way to do that? I think it's by "liking" other people's posts regularly or somewhat regularly, since that helps other people become aware of you and what times you're online.
Fosstodon is an English speaking Mastodon instance that is open to anyone who is interested in technology; particularly free & open source software.
