Just bought a Philips Smart Wifi (not Hue) bulb, but I can't find an open source way to control it. Anyone have any luck with this?

@flyingpimonster Im pretty sure the Philips Wiz line are controlled by a ESP8266 chip. Which means you can load custom open source firmware on them and control them with MQTT or ESPHome.

However I do think you have to physically open it with a knife and soder some connections to the board in order to flash it, so I’m not sure I’d recommend it.

@DelusionalAI Huh, that's a shame. Guess I'll return it and get a regular lightbulb for now.
