⚠️The beta (test) for the version 12.0 release is now ready with many bugs sqashed, and many shiny new features. We will be in beta for about a week unless major issues are discovered.

It would be very helpful if our user community test it for 5 minutes or less if they can, and post on the discussion linked below and let us know what platform they tested on and if it was ok or bugs observed. This will significantly cut down on our testing and lead to a quicker release.

Guess who is running on flawlessly :ablobcatwave:

You can now enjoy annotating your screenshots on Steam Deck as well. 📸 :blobcatgamer:

There has been a new wave of bug reports from users who have upgraded to Ubuntu 22.04. To save your time and others, please make sure that you have read the related parts on our website flameshot.org and you have also searched in both "open" and "closed" issues:

@MichaelTunnell
Thanks for covering our release in This Week in Linux episode 182. This has been perhaps our biggest release so far and soon there will be a v11.1 to fix some of the papercut bugs. So stay tuned. 😊

And for those who haven't yet watched that episode, here is the link (the part about is at 25:25 but watch all of it if you can. Good content.)

There is an issue on our GitHub (link below) for which we need our community to help of solve the issue.

None of our devs have a Windows 11 PC with the TPM requirements and therefore we would need the help of our windows users. Feel free to join our Matrix room to discuss this matter if you are interested:

We now have a cool color picker that you can activate via the sidebar. To help you precisely choose the pixel you want while having the color grabber active, you can right-click or press Space to toggle the zoom mode. We have also added a neat feature that you can press and hold left-click to make the zoom window slightly larger and static so that you can exactly land on the pixel you want. The hexadecimal of the value will be shown in the sidebar so that you can copy it if you want.

Now you can define multiple “final actions”. For instance you can save the file and copy to clipboard and upload to imgur all at the same time:

flameshot gui --path “output.png” --clipboard --upload

From now on you don’t get confused when you define a “final action” as we hide all those buttons and shortcuts and only show you an “Accept” button and you can accept the screenshot by pressing Enter.

If you have a mistake in the config file, Flameshot will point that out to you. Open configurations to see the errors and have the opportunity to fix them, or run `flameshot config --check`. This way you have all the tools to and safetynet to play around with the config file.

The on-screen help message that appears in the middle of the screen when you take a screenshot using the gui mode (`flameshot gui`) now dynamically reads the keyboard shortcuts to remind you of what you have set.

Note that even if you have disabled a button from the configurations, you still can trigger those actions using keyboard shortcuts. This way you can have a less cluttered user interface.

Perhaps the biggest change that is the product of major code refactoring is that Flameshot doesn’t depend on the daemon, therefore you can run `flameshot gui` and take one screenshot and afterwards the process will be terminated (unless you pin the screenshot or copy it to clipboard).

For those who like to see the tray icon and have the daemon running, you still can run `flameshot`. This is our favourite way but now users also have the option of not having the daemon running😊

🎉We have published a new stable version (11.0.0) 🎉

This is by far the biggest release we have had. We pre-released it 25 days ago and we have spent all this time fixing rough edges.

In the following toots we will post some of the new and cool features
