If a machine accomplishes cognitive tasks in a way that is dissimilar from the way our brain does it, do we call the machine intelligent in this domain, or not?
Calling it non-intelligent could devalue the actual accomplishment. And why is it only intelligent if our brain does it? By this reasoning, how can we ever determine if a machine has intelligence? Or an alien life form, or an animal with a different brain architecture like a bird or an octopus?
