Ever been *magically* locked out of your Google account?

Idk, would make me nervous that someone would be able to lock my account with no recourse for recovery, just because my account was hacked and then used for nefarious activity.

Lose access to my email (and whatever services the hacker gained access to using recovery tools that rely on access to email), my adsense account, all my contacts, all my calendar, etc. all at once.

Leave Google while you still can

Welp, looks like my :ubuntu: environment went belly up.

Good a time as any to install a newer distro while I'm redoing things :thonking:

Google is leading the charge to replace third-party cookies with a new suite of technologies to target ads on the Web.

FLoC is meant to be a new way to make your browser do the profiling that third-party trackers used to do themselves: in this case, boiling down your recent browsing activity into a behavioral label, and then sharing it with websites and advertisers.

In my heart, I know I've just moved most of these lines of code to another repo, but it feels good to see this many big red digits as the fruit of one's past month and a half

Honestly, this happens so often anymore that I should just build a "locked out" canary link on all my account bios

Love to get locked out of the bird site for criticizing a conspiracy touting politician for waving around a loaded pistol WHILE DRIVING for a photo op

So far liking the Kobo line of devices, but no touchscreen/stylus or note taking capability it seems.

Not necessarily a deal breaker, but hoping to find something that ticks all the boxes

Anyone know a good tablet that's not loaded down with DRM (which rules out all the kindles AFAICT)?

A definite plus would be ability to take handwritten notes/edit documents (eg, with a finger or stylus)

Trying to image a NAS drive (the first of 2 in a JBOD, the second of which died). I know total recovery is out of the question, but I want to image the non-bad drive before I format & redo the whole thing as a RAID 1

Aaaand my "pink KVM" issue has mysteriously fixed itself.

Finally found a good quality kvm, installed it and works great...for ONE of my computers!

The work computer OTOH has some major hot pink color issues, somewhere between the monitor => kvm => usb-c hub => macbook.

Apple has been...less than helpful

ICANN Board Withholds Consent for a Change of Control of the Public Interest Registry (PIR)

The age old question: "am I entering a depression spiral, or just burning out" 🤔

Evan :lineageos: :ubuntu: boosted

Every KVM switch aimed at home users is made by the same few manufacturers, with the same half dozen brand names slapped on them, they all range between $30-100 and all begin to fail after 6 months.

What the eff.
