So far liking the Kobo line of devices, but no touchscreen/stylus or note taking capability it seems.
Not necessarily a deal breaker, but hoping to find something that ticks all the boxes
@evanskaufman You can put KOreader on your kobo, mine never runs Kobo's application now.
On first boot you have to edit the sqlite database to fake adding an account so that you can skip logging in with a Kobo account though.

In the mean time, I went with a Boox Poke 2. Doesn't support note taking in the manner I wanted, but it's a pretty nice e-reader, albeit on the smaller side
