Krita 4.4.2 released! krita.org/en/item/krita-4-4-2- Over 300 changes, many bugs fixed, new features (mesh gradients, mesh transform, gradient fill layer and new gradient editor, improved halftone filter and more).

The list of current projects that are supported by reads like an exiting list of new developments with probably more than a few projects you didn't know about.

This is a great article by @yarmo in the context of keyoxide but does a great job of explaining XMPP.

After a question from a fellow user I had to create the Whiffle Ball in .

I finally printed the winter Tux that I created earlier. It wasn't an easy print but I'm happy with the little guy. If someone else wants to have a go at it here is the .obj: my.hidrive.com/lnk/bBiICAJ2

or wants the Dust3D source file:

I would like to add that Lemmy still needs a lot of work in the area of dealing with abuse or harassment. Mastodon has all these great features so one can block, mute or report certain users. I couldn't find any of these on Lemmy.

Recently I've been lurking around on and here are some of my preliminary thoughts about this social network.

@BaAtchison @kicou
... because I know I'll be able to open FreeCAD files ten years from now, while with proprietary CAD software, who knows if I'll still have access to such software then?

Recently Autodesk's changed the usage rules for Fusion 360 and the FreeCAD community saw an influx of new users. You just can't trust free software if it's proprietary, there have been too many examples of it to list.

coronavirus

Internet outage for about an hour. Had the same yesterday and the day before, but only for about ten minutes.

The pandemic is out of control right now and a lot of people are getting sick. That will include engineers. So infrastructure generally might be a bit more unreliable than usual. Things failing and not getting fixed for a while.

Systematic safety

No cyclist should have to risk his/her life when getting on the road. This is not a daydream it's becoming a reality in some parts of the world. Politicians should be aware of this and should act to have roads (re)designed according to the systematic safety principles. There is no excuse not to do it and we should make our politicians aware of these principles.

*Century Rider*

His daily commute,
A regular route,
Astride his bike,
A ride to like.

Then weekends came
With more of the same
Riding a "century",
An adventurer, he.

It came to an end
On a road with no bend
His joy is now hushed,
By a car he was crushed.

But where is the moral,
The memorial laurel?
At bad drivers, I'm pissed.
PLA, you will be missed!

nazis

Apparently Amazon has kicked Parler off of AWS.

Parler has been known as a cesspool of nazi scum and villainy for quite some time, even prior to recent events in the US. So watch out for any sudden influxes of new folks into the fediverse. Not all exoduses from silo systems are good ones.

Now is a good time for admins of public #fediverse instances to ensure that codes of conduct or terms of service are being followed and that nazis aren't given an easy ride on the #OpenWeb

Now is not the time for equivocations and "well, maybe we should let them denounce...because [thin excuse]...or [disingenuous freedom of speech argument]"
