What I love about Katatonia's music is how brutally honest their lyrics are. They don't shy away from the darkest of themes, while making it incredibly enjoyable for the listener. I like all of their albums, even if there's a stark change in style later down the line.

@colinkiama Also, saying that their competitor switched to free to play and that made it worse doesn't stack up. Konami just made a bad game.

@colinkiama All of those things can be made with a software update. It's still basically the same game with minor improvements and features that sound cool and exciting, but are nothing but buzzwords and hogwash.

So what I'll never understand is why do people buy FIFA every year. Seriously, you get minor improvements to the gameplay and a little bit of a graphical wow factor for 60€ every year. They sell you the same game, every year! And people are still buying them? Why?

I open Firefox after updating and am greeted with full webpage advertisement for resold Mullvad that no one gives a shit about.

I wish Mozilla would just focus on their god damn browser.

I don't understand the argument against GPL. Why would you allow corporations to use your work without giving back? Permissive licenses make no sense.

@amber Oh, sorry. I didn't notice that in the screenshot at all. That usually means that ls could not stat that directory.

@mrityunjay Woah, this is just what I've been looking for a long time. Thanks for sharing!

@mrityunjay Wait. This is just note taking? Based on VSCode?

@BrodieOnLinux

I legit want the shirt you're wearing in this thumbnail. 😂

black friday doesnt make sense

@Alonealastalovedalongthe Because it's a total scam and the sheer volume of people makes up for any losses. It's a manufactured ploy to get people to spend money on stuff they don't need. (Go figure, huh?) The "wonders" of consumerism in action.

@xpil Others pointed you in the right direction. Check the logs and I second checking the router as well since the cheap ones are really unreliable. I've had your exact issue until I figured out that the router would randomly drop the signal for a few seconds.

@wizzwizz4 And therein lies the problem. JavaScript has infested everything to the point of unusability. Browsers are still terrible resource hogs, but are tolerable with 8GiB of RAM and only run really smoothly with at least 12, which is catastrophic. But it has to be this way due to how bad the web has become.

@greypilgrim You can absolutely do that. It's a bit more involved, but nothing that a little NFS share can't do.

@wizzwizz4 That ties into another issue that we have. Browsers are probably far worse offenders to resource expectations than Gnome ever will be. It's a sad reality of the web nowadays. Accessibility sucks almost everywhere, that I fully agree is shitty.

It's that time of the year again. Time to remind people that they should not buy anything tomorrow. Black Friday is a total scam to promote consumerism. Instead, celebrate Buy Nothing Day in protest.

@redeagle Been there, done that. Lived to tell the tale. It seems that's the way corporations cut cost. Why hire two-three people when you can just grossly underpay one unlucky soul to do all the work?
