Just found another open #mastodon issue that would help prevent mobbing/dog piling.
Add a New Account State: Locked https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/issues/7273.
The idea is that moderators should be able to temporarily lock an account without deleting the account entirely. Deleting an account is a draconian sanction, so mods are—appropriately—very reluctant to inflict it. But if mods had access to a "time-out" feature, they could punish behavior that currently reseeds only a warning.
