"Let's deploy a new OS!" was one of the great one liners from this @opensuse Conference talk. Rolling out Linux with and moving systems from @Windows10 to at scale can be easier than you think. youtu.be/Nunip-DwShM?t=434

In college, I had a professor who had a slight fear that whenever he retracted the projector screen, that there would be some disparaging remark about him for everyone to see.

Naturally, a friend and I decided to show up early, before he got there, and write messages about how great and awesome he was.

Class starts, and he does the usual, but upon finding the message, he was all "It finally happened", and got super happy.

Stealth self-esteem boosting, yo.

I installed 4 new SSDs (6 in total) in my #NAS based on the @PINE64 #Quartz64 #ARM board as an experiment!

2 x 1TB in btrfs mirror mode for various services and docker. Currently running my @matrixdotorg #synapse home server.

4 x 1TB in RAID5 for data storage.

No special effects but really for some reason I’m pretty happy about it, my last work inside the clustering/SAP/SUSE and Trento ecosystem is a Rust crate to help with parsing of the Corosync configuration syntax. Still got to properly license and document a bit of it, but I’m really really proud

The trick with performance optimisations is to have a working, easy to debug baseline as a point of comparison, instead of trying to write the cleverest, most unmaintainable code you can right from the start

Friendly reminder that corporations aren't your friends, also not during pride.

They don't join into pride because they care. They join because they see a way to sell you stuff.

Your friends though? They're awesome. Invest in your friends, not in corporations :)

Also, definitely equip free in-game pride items if the games you play give you any, just to spite the *phobes.

Guile is Scheme, but it has a format function so I abuse it. It is convenient.
