I've took an early enough train so that I would be able to attend the very interesting talk about at 10:00

Of course having arrived at the premises I quickly scouted out the stands, and immediately met with some friends and noticed a huge, but friendly penguin wearing a shirt :)

The train station in Dornbirn, where I was waiting for a S-Bahn to Dornbirn Schoren. The train station is nothing spectacular, but looked clean enough :P
My fist talk of the morning about libcamera was very interesting. All my my navigational needs in this foreign mountainous country were easily met by my

I regularly record gpx tracks using satellite by @tpikonen for which I've contributed the plumbing so that it could talk with gnss-share by @craftyguy
but somehow all my files from are empty (or rather just the xml boilerplate 😿 ) and I only noticed now..

It's awesome to see how many people work on all sorts of parts of the stack 😍

A close up of the monitor on the table reveals a grey Debian shirt. Is is folded in such a way to show ~15 cm on the back of the t-shirt where "debian/rules" is written in a black font over the light-grey background. For those unfamiliar with Debian packaging: debian/rules is a file (a makefile to be more precise) which describes how to build binary packages out of the debianized sources.
The picture shows the Debian booth. In the background is a big banner with the Debian swirl and the text "debian" beside it. Debian occupied two tables. Behind the table a Debian you can see a Debian person sitting and looking (or pretending) like they're working ;) On the table there are a couple of laptops, some keyboards and a LCD display for people walking by to see. The display shows the Xfce desktop on the latest release of Debian bookworm, which is running on some single board computer (potentially a Raspberry Pi).
A sign glued (?) to a trash bin explaining that smoking is not allowed on the (high) school premises and that breaking these rules would have disciplinary consequence (for the students presumably).
A closse up of the stainless steel water bottle obtained in september during DebConf 23 in Kochi, India. For identification purposes (there were > 300 people at DebConf) I've applied a sticker of the phosh project depicting a friendly tiger holding a sign with their cute little paws. The sign reads "Phosh" (a graphical shell for mobile devices running proper GNU like Linux)

Right next to the folks had a booth where they had (among other things) a laptop with a Wacom pen tablet thingy and open.

Before I arrived someone had written "KDE".
After I arrived *someone* had written "<3 GNOME" below that.

It all happened so fast. A blink of an eye and the perpetrator was nowhere to be seen!

A terminal running on a PinePhone under Plasma Mobile. The first command run is "ping 9.9.9.9" and the output suggests the answers came in less than 10ms. "uname -r" reveals a 6.4.7 kernel running and "ls /boot" reveals that this is in fact a PinePhone hardware revision 1.2

The slide is titled "Zweite Welle im Winter 2020/21" (second wave in winter 2020/21) The slide is split into a left and right pane. On the left there are 4 bullet points: - Anfrage Kultusministerium: Infrastruktur um eine Groessenordnung auf 350 Hosts hochskalieren (Request from the relevant ministry: Scale up the infrastructure by one order of magnitude to 350 hosts) - Frohe Weihnachten! (merry christmas!) with a plot of reported CoVID cases per 100.000 inhabitants by age from 2020 germany. - Setup noch suboptimal, haelt aber dem produktiven Einsatz mit ueber 180.000 simultanen Nutzern stand (Setup suboptimal, but supports 180.000 simultaneous users in production) - ... und das mit einer der nocht besonders gut skalierenden, fruehen BBB-Version! (and the early versions of BigBlueButton were not making good usage of parallelization)

After a short pause I had some good laughs at the expense of IT failures (mostly from austria, but it's not like it's any better in germany) which was presented by @leyrer 🤘

Sadly I didn't get to introduce myself in person to @leyrer as he always looked so busy and I didn't want to interrupt.
