@deepbluev7 Nice video. This client has so many features and its not electron like element is. Have it installed on my laptop and would use it on my pinephone if it would let me login on Arch.
@jason123santa Last time I tried the flatpak, that seemed to work on the PinePhone, but scrolling was odd and there were a few other issues. Didn't have much time to play with it though.
@deepbluev7 The build on the aur just crashes. I am going to try the flatpak version and see if it works.
If the flatpak version works good then it will be the best matrix client on the Pinephone.
@jason123santa I feel like touch support and small form factor support in Nheko is still very rough. I think it will take a bit to become acceptable on the PinePhone. ;-)
@deepbluev7 I will try it and see what I think about it.
Were you the developer of Nheko that was in the pinephone chat once? That is when I found out about Nheko and tried it.
@jason123santa Yeah, that was probably me. I have set nheko as my notification keyword, so I get notifications, whenever it gets mentioned. :D
@jason123santa We don't really have "official" packaging apart from Flathub, nheko-git in the AUR and the releases on Github. Everything else is done by distro packagers, although we sometimes help them out, when they ask or we find issues. They usually do a really great job, but I don't know if I ever was in contact with the void one.
@jason123santa Those are usually added via PRs from users on that distro or the maintainers themselves. So the list is rather arbitrary. :D
@deepbluev7 I will see if the Void package is updated enough. If not I will switch to the flatpak or appimage version.
@arh You can use distro repos, they are just often out of date. Debian and Ubuntu sadly don't update it between stable releases, so Ubuntu still has 0.6.3 in the latest LTS... Debian unstable usually has the latest version though (and a lot of distros package it)!
