How did Microsoft go from hating open source and wanting to destroy it, to now owning the two biggest centralised repositories and hubs for open source development?

@daz throw in wsl2 and it's a completely different look for ms

@daz Honestly, I'd say it's mostly Satya Nadella's doing. He's focusing more on cloud computing, and the cloud's lifeblood is almost completely open source software. Having GitHub and npm gives them clout in that sector.

@daz and we should stop pretending that Windows is the enemy of desktop Linux. The software itself is what prevents many people from using it.
