I find it incredible that we call ourselves civilised yet are still having conversations about this.

How about just... not eating animals?

@dajbelshaw I see no issue with eating meat, animals eat other animals and have evolved to do so. However I do see issues with the way we farm and raise livestock.

@jmizzle207 Each to their own, but seems we're agreed on the ridiculous conditions.

@dajbelshaw 100% respect your opinion on the matter and am not looking to change anybodys viewpoint. Hunting wild game would be ideal to raising animals in shitty conditions just for slaughter, they would at least be living as nature intended. Unfortunately we're so beyond overpopulation that that wouldn't be sustainable.

@jmizzle207 That's why I'm hopefully about protein alternatives to meat, the newer examples of which are genuinely delicious and can be produced en-masse 👍

@dajbelshaw The way we treat animals is just utterly disgusting. They deserve far more respect and care.

I've been vegetarian for many many years now, and lean incredibly close to vegan. But we do have our own bees for honey and chickens for eggs that are truly cared for, so I feel somewhat justified.

I do miss a damn good bacon sandwich though.

@gray It's funny, the bacon thing doesn't bother me! I've been pescetarian since October 2017, but realistically don't eat very much fish.

I cling onto that aspect to make myself less of an awkward guest and when I'm eating out (as I have some food/drink migraine triggers)
