Anyone have some suggestions on folks to follow, books, web sites related to worker owned cooperatives?

I've done freelance software work for years and I'm intrigued by this type of org but haven't found great resources so far on legal structures, bylaws, etc.

@mattcropp I currently freelance. Was considering forming a coop if I found the right folks.

@coopernurse Cool; that kinda falls in between, depending on the level of freelancing people have been doing. Either folks form a new business on equal footing as a co-op, or, if people are bringing significantly different levels of resources/experience/capacity to the table, it might look like a buy-out of an existing practice by the new entity, so the co-op might owe one member a share of profit for a few years to finance that differential.

@coopernurse Also, since you're in the PNW, drop these folks a line and see what they have to say: nwcdc.coop/
