Man, is there a sadder man on the internet than Elon Musk? He seems to be constantly, desperately performing to get approval and validation.
That man needs some actual friends.
Thinking and talking about this, I am coming more and more to the conclusion that billionaires are, almost by definition, mentally ill and suffering. Elon is going through an extended meltdown at the moment, massively multiplied by his wealth.
We shouldn't tax billionaires. We should take *all* their money, and put them in therapy. It is the only way to save them, it is the only humane thing to do.

Nearly all billionaires are people who had hundreds of millions of dollars and then decided to *keep striving to earn more*. I'm not sure I'd go as far as "mentally ill", but I don't think that's the psychologically *typical* response to that situation – and it shows
@codesections I think there's two sides to it: One is the existing condition that makes them hoard money in this fashion.
But the second, arguably worse one is how once you get that money, it will completely break any human connections you have with people around you, and that will absolutely mess you up if you weren't already.
