Apparently Signal is down rn. Feel like it happens maybe twice a year (at least in the US)?
I think I've been using Wire for over a year and I've never experienced a real outage (knock on wood!). I guess that makes sense given their economic models, funding, etc., but still kind of interesting. (I use Signal too, but with fewer people.)
k, my Signal app on iOS is sending and receiving messages again now. woohoo! Desktop client on Linux can't seem to connect though.
oh, and now desktop client is connected. so I'm all good!
@schlink What desktop client do you use? I tried mstdn, but it didn't seem to add any features compared to a browser tab and (oddly) seemed to break spell check. Given that it's electon anyway, I just switched back to a browser tab, but would love to hear a better option
