Heh. SQL in 2000 for "simple websites"
That was a time where hosters charged big time for every database and would usually limit access to it next to incapability.
Having a database backed "simple website" was 👑 and a user friendly CMS (like WP) not yet in sight.
I recall all the work that was required to migrate a static website into a database and ignored ~400 static pages of my own blog in the progress when I eventually switched to WP in 2004 🤓
@bekopharm That's...wayyy back. By the time I got on, databases were so cheap and accessible in comparision. This might be something like 2009/10.
