@carlrichell I try the pre-alpha once a week or so to follow along. It’s great to be able to see the progress!
@BartV thanks for following along. The features should be close to usable as a daily driver. Is there anything important missing for you?
@carlrichell @BartV you didn't ask me, but improvements to the alt+tab (I've commented on the project card) as well as an app window switcher (alt+` by default I believe) are missing for me :)
@carlrichell Small things that break my workflow mostly; for example not being able to resize windows with super+right click. Also not being able to start typing in the file manager to start filtering. Oh, and I sometimes have a hard time resizing windows in the usual way - the sides/corners just don't seem to 'catch'.
All things I'm sure will be picked up sooner or later, but enough to be *just* annoying enough to not use this version for daily work yet :)
@BartV we added search to cosmic-files recently. It's very fast. See what you think of that feature. We've debated -type to jump- to files but we're less sure with how fast search is.
The others are on our radar for alpha 2.
@carlrichell That's great! Just type-to-search would be a great help, imho. BUT I'm just one person and I'm sure you have plenty of higher priority issues to handle.
Edit: I just tested this a bit and indeed, type to jump is probably better than only search.
