Repeat after me, distributions should not be patching things at downstream level unless upstream releases it or recommends patching.

Especially when it introduces freaking new API(!!!!) This ensures that no sane developer can make use of your platform/distribution to develop.


@bshah Ouch, lots of complaints came from developers of eg25-manager and other modem stuff as well due to them doing the same. At some point they started adding big "WIP DO NOT SHIP THIS" warnings in the MR descriptions. That REALLY shouldn't be necessary 😢

@bart @bshah You could at the very least communicate your intention to ship to the author of the code so they could inform you of the implications...

I thought they were arch based, not debian based.
