COVID, controversy, curfew

Some folks plan to protest the curfew tonight at the Old Port.

I don't understand this. Their supposed solution to losing a little freedom for a little while (while their health professionals lose their damn minds) is to burn their money, thus limiting their freedom in another way. I wish I could instil a little more self-awareness into some in the world.

Also the curfew doesn't take into account that folks who work the night shift visit each other during the day 🤷 Sure there's less who work night shift, but still.

At least this time there's some consistency: Curfew is to discourage folks visiting each other's places overnight, so they also prohibit having visitors :P

@brandon
Curfews are completely stupid.
There are almost no infections when people are outside. With a curfew, more people will stay overnight at friends places, and that will give more infections.

COVID, controversy, curfew

@rudolf I don’t think the purpose is to keep people from being outside. I think it’s to discourage large parties which have been the source of previous outbreaks. Yes other than that it can be regarded as a superficial message when implemented alone, but this is why I say there is more consistency when they also prohibit visits except for those who live alone.
