To that end ... anyone want to help me run Ethernet through my 100+ year old 2-story home? No? Didn’t think so. 👍
@boblmartens I'll guess you're not in central Arizona. If you were, I'd help you. I put several receptacles in my house that all terminate in a closet with my servers. It was intimidating before I got started, but now I can add one easily. Let me know if you have questions.
@daremo Thanks, and I am not there. The work doesn’t intimidate me ... sadly I’m just lazy. 😉
@boblmartens old houses are so easy to work with, especially multistory ones. Single story block houses in Florida are the worst IMHO. There is literally nowhere to hide the cable, so it just runs externally, and it looks awful.
@rage I'm doing some planning. Looks like I might be able to go up the chimney (that isn't used anymore). I'm looking at maybe nine runs to the attic to cover the attic + second floor.
@boblmartens oh my, sounds like a large place.
@rage I want to have one Ethernet in each bedroom and five total in the upstairs (will be a rec room and want a ceiling-mounted AP). I'll overbuild this thing!
