I don't understand why people are surprised by this. AIs are written by people with bias, tested by people with bias, and trained on data sets that contain biases. Why are we shocked that the AIs end up biased? Seems a foregone conclusion to me until we can figure out a better way for them to work.
Have you ever wanted to access a Google spreadsheet using SQL? Now you can: https://github.com/betodealmeida/gsheets-db-api
I started working on a formatter for https://github.com/mozilla/moz-sql-parser. Python could really use a solid ANSI SQL parser.
People of the #fediverse, lend me your ears!
I come before you to propose a new hashtag - #BlogBoost were people can recommend their favourite blogs.
Not gonna lie, this is purely for selfish reasons so I can improve my RSS feed. 😃
I think #BlogBoost should be a link with a VERY short summary. For example:
https://omgubuntu.co.uk - Ubuntu, Linux blog.
I'll follow this post with my first #BlogBoost. Please join in if you're interested.
A lot of interesting resources on how to tell a story with data: https://pudding.cool/#how
About me: I've been making open source software since 2003. I started with a simple email virus scanner, wrote a server for climate data (pydap.org) and I'm currently and Apache committer working on Apache Superset.
I also make music using free software (Ardour, Hydrogen, CALF, Yoshimi).
Are there any instances that allow upload music files? #music
@ScribbleAddict any chance I can get an invite to mastodon.art? I make music (in addition to open source) and I've been looking for an instance that's more art oriented — TIA!
Creator of pydap.org, Apache committer, open source musician.
