I can’t believe I’m having to write this code in a fucking web server. What a mockery of the web, human rights, and the GDPR.

Fuck you, Google!

Delete Chrome. Now.

Google is using its exceptionally powerful position to make *the browser itself* analyze your browsing behavior and serve that on a plate in the form of "cohorts" to anyone interested.

They are transforming Chrome into a "browsing-history-passport" - right now.

If you care about your intellectual freedom even a little bit, you must put Chrome out of your life as soon as possible. Support others doing the same.

Started packaging Amfora and LaGrange browsers for yesterday.

Amfora relies on a few godeps that aren't in the archive yet, and LaGrange has a dep on a library also not packaged.

Going to start with LaGrange since it seems like the lower hanging fruit, and will give Amfora a crack a bit later as I get more familiar with the Debian go package specs.

The simplicity of protocol is brilliant! The bar to do hacky stuff with it is very low. Examples:

Bollux - A gemini client in bash.

Lace & sed - Microblogging on gemini.

Has anyone written a comparison of different server software? Which is the best one? Why?

I'd like something stable to server my static pages and maybe hook it up with fail2ban, since I'm seeing some network scanning and would like to block those in iptables.

Jumping head first into the craze!

My carefully planned escape from the web was success last night. I named my capsule 🛰️ gemini://gemspace.observer/ and launched it into the new frontiers of geminispace 🚀

Chromium accounted for 60 *billion* DNS queries per day and a code change resulted in a 41% drop in global root DNS server traffic: theregister.com/2021/02/04/chr

Now that the hype is on full steam, it would be awesome if someone made a gemini browser for . Capsules are mostly text only blogish affairs. Perfect reading material for eink readers.

Google has removed client Element.io from the Play store. People, its time to yet again! Praise :fdroid:

Buh-bye WhatsApp! Should have pulled the plug back when Facebook logo first became visible. Better late than never.
