@gamayun I don't think so. I think they just wanted to avoid the criticism about the feature before it was even implemented... Which isn't really okay either...
@gamayun @be Actually it kinda was, apparently up until this commit AGPL was improperly applied to the project, probably rendering many random files proprietrary (IANAL): https://github.com/signalapp/Signal-Server/commit/2f7bb3499dcdb3bfa8176038792ebfe6b0cc104f You can see a decent number of files had _no_ copyright/licencing info whatsoever. If that's problematic for AGPL (which IIUC it is), this repository was only fully open sourced on 23 Oct 2020.
