SHOUTcast update: Due to the speed of SC's planned retirement of the existing DNAS (within 1 month), we have already started removing it from new AzuraCast installations. Existing installations will keep SHOUTcast 2.5.5.

A new "install SHOUTcast" page has also been created.

This will allow you to download the SHOUTcast 2 binary's .tar.gz file and upload it to the server, where it will automatically be extracted and installed.

By default, new AzuraCast installations will only use (and recommend) Icecast-KH.

The planned 2.6 release of SHOUTcast Server Software (formerly DNAS) has not been released yet, and thus cannot be tested for compatibility with AzuraCast. We will remain compatible with 2.5.x in the future, provided you upload the binary package post-installation.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. AzuraCast was originally composed entirely of free software (including Icecast), but we added SHOUTcast due to popular request. Their restrictive new license and non-free software mean we can no longer offer that out of the box.

(Note: Updating your installation will not result in you losing SHOUTcast if you already have it. If you update your docker-compose.yml to the newest version, however, this version refers to an image with SHOUTcast not installed by default. You can always reinstall it afterward.)
