@wolfger @vincentj Or at least use secure comms, it's pretty obvious at this point the reactionaries aren't messing around.

As much as I love to crap on Facebook, they were complying with a warrant. Any legit business would do the same thing, including more privacy oriented services. What ought they do? Break the law themselves?

The State is fully at fault here. The problem is that they're using warrants to keep tabs on peoples reproductive organs in the first place.

Last week of homework before finals... 6 things due for 2 classes. Summer terms are shorter so they really cram a lot in at the end.

I'm glad I took some classes to get the credits done, but man am I burnt out. I'll have almost a whole month off before fall starts though and I'm really looking forward to it.

@jrballesteros05 To me this really highlights the conflict of interest between serving their end users and serving their actual customers (i.e. advertisers). They're clearly not in the business of privacy, it's just a potential side effect of making surveillance more palatable. It's the same crap we've seen before but with extra steps.

I'm aware of `go mod vendor` too but that's not what I need. I'm thinking more like the equivalent of a node_modules folder.

When working with is there a way to save 3rd party modules/packages to a sub-directory of the project rather than the users GOPATH?

I'd like to keep GOPATH as ephemeral as possible and the only thing I've come up with is exporting a new GOPATH whenever I switch projects.

For my 5000th post, I’ll be doing an ! Better later than never :)

I‘m a recent CS new grad particularly interested in topics relating to privacy, open-source, and accessibility.

I joined the Fediverse over quarantine as an “anonymous way to finally get my thoughts out”, and it’s proven to be one of my favorite places on the internet. I’m eternally grateful to those that helped me through my

Here’s to more great times with you all! :blobcathighfive:

My partner sent this to me and I had a good chuckle, thought some of you might enjoy

@foxhkron Also Germans: Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz

There's got to be a middle ground 😂

Now that I'm working with other people more often I think I'll set up a VM for testing.

I don't know that it's really necessary. I'm telling myself it's more secure and consistent... Really though I think I might lose it if I have to spam my filesystem with pip or npm install one more time 😅

Bad day + homework anxiety

The pseudocode we're given in my Algorithms class is shockingly bad, and the lectures explain the problems as though we're solving a maze puzzle on the kid's menu at some chain restaurant. For 0-1 knapsack the prof literally just drew a bag with different types of jewelry. I wish I was allowed to post it elsewhere, because I frankly can't believe the University has the nerve to charge money for this. Feels like I'm paying $2400 US to attend the University of YouTube.

I should follow more people. I don't know why I'm so worried about my home timeline getting cluttered. As it is it rarely takes more than 5-10 minutes to scroll through everything each day.

@fullstackthaumaturge That shit is maddening. I don't even use GNOME stuff like that just makes me crazy in general. It's like when my car starts beeping after I open the door. I'M AWARE.

@sf Yeah I have good number of comments like that. I asked my partner which ones he wants me to move to the sprint backlog and he said idc. So I'll just do whatever is simplest so I can focus on Algos I guess.

I think I'm annoying my partner in this term project. I keep giving updates on the API I'm writing and he clearly doesn't care. Thing is, it's my Software Engineering class. Collaboration and following the methodology is where we're graded, not so much the actual code. So... Sorry, but not sorry...

My partner just gave herself goosebumps talking about the 'uncanny valley.'

"It creeps me out that there was an evolutionary advantage for identifying things that aren't quite human."

Alien doppelgangers are my new official conspiracy theory for the sense of revulsion some people feel when they see fake Tarkin in Rogue One.
