Holy crap. I didn't know I had this in me. I just coded the most aesthetically pleasing new tab page I've ever seen. The search bar even works and searches #DuckDuckGo.
All that's left is hosting it locally so I get blazing speeds.
@amolith I've been considering tackling something similar to this myself because there is a painfully long pause after opening FF the first time per session before the "top sites" display gets rendered. Since it is mostly pinned sites, I figured a static, locally hosted page would work much better.
@ajdunevent Unless you're going to use a webserver to host it locally, you'll have to do what I did and host it somewhere else or write a single HTML file with all the CSS and have it reference third-parties for all the fonts and icons and such. I haven't found an extension lets you do anything locally without a single file or webserver.
Wow. That is... stunning, to say the least. Are you willing to share it?
@amolith Awesome! Thank you!!!
@Denderix I don't know how well you can see them lol but here they are. If it's too small, let me know and I can make a list
@amolith thanks! There are a couple in there I’m going to try out!
@Denderix For privacy/security, AdNauseum is my absolute favourite (based on uBlock Origin), TrackMeNot is a must-have, and Decentraleyes is wonderful! 🙂
@amolith — @alcinnz take the hint 😉
