IP over Postal Mail

Print the packet, stick it in an envelope, mail it to the destination link-layer address, OCR it when it arrives. Like IPoAC but with roundtrip times measured in weeks.

If you put the data on flash drives and filled the envelope to capacity, you'd actually have pretty good bandwidth.

… shame about the ping time, though

So much so that I've heard Google sometimes finds it preferable for sending data between datacenters.
