ActivityPods

We are writing a blog post about ActivityPods v2.
For that, we need your help!

What is it about ActivityPods that feels confusing to you? What do you want to know or understand?

@activitypods Thanks for this. The main point for me is how to add a new resource type from an app.

@activitypods I've looked at Solid multiple times and still have no idea what it would look like to implement a basic app. I don't think I've ever seen a page of simple examples of what the JSON on the wire would look like for basic filesystem operations against a Solid Pod. If you can do anything to make that more clear, that would be awesome. My impression so far has been it's complicated enough that I just created my own protocol instead: gemdrive.io/

gemdrive.iogemdrive.io

@anders @activitypods @elfpavlik would be an excellent person to talk to regarding Solid

@activitypods for one, hadn't even heard of this and it sounds incredible! Tagging @stefan as he may already know of you, but if not, this may be of interest to him for reference, etc - he does jointhefediverse.net. 🔥

@jake4480 @activitypods Thank you for tagging me!

I am somewhat familiar with the project, will definitely look into it in more depth. No question at this time though!

@activitypods The explanations and use cases seem too abstract. I would like to see concrete examples of how it can be used to solve real-world issues people are experiencing today, on the actual platforms currently in use, for the specific activities people are already doing. Bonus points if you can explain how people can trust the long-term security and accessibility of their own pods without relying on 3rd parties.

@activitypods what does this mean for existing projects (and accounts on them)? If you’ve built a following on PeerTube, Pixelfed and Mastodon what needs to happen to see them migrated into ActivityPod-land?
