I need entire children books of this kind to give to my nephews! We all need this.

The next generation will grow up with browsers and apps obfuscating the fundamental processes that guarantee our online safety. Unless provided to them by us, they will never be educated on how to stay safe online.

They ported XScreenSaver to Android. I now have some nice animated background. I choosed atlantis, it is so chilling to look at these fishes swimming in the background or the lockscreen.

A reminder: I am not a bot. If you @ me, I might @ back. We're also not a "news outlet", we're a big community that also does Linux + Gaming news. 🐧🐧👍

In August, @peertube entered a new stage in the development of #PeerTube v3. The objective is to raise €60k so they can implement, (1) global search, (2) moderation, (3) plugins & playlists, and (4) live streaming, here's the roadmap: joinpeertube.org/roadmap/.

They already raised €37k which covers steps (1) and (2) and we're almost there for step (3) which is €40k.

Let's help build a decentralized alternative to #YouTube. Please boost and, if possible, donate.

Today I started to learn GO, because it sounds very interesting. But now I saw it is from Google. But it is under the BSD licence. But what if google decides to change that in future? I really try to avoid all services from google, but a programming language is not a service. Is GO bad out of the privacy/FLOSS perspective? Should I stop learning it? I'm not sure, I would be happy to hear some opinions on this topic.

Hello everyone, this is my first toot. Just came from Twitter but considering deleting that account since the platform is just too negative for me. Not sure how things will go here. But just from quick glances I feel like at home here. Hoping you all have a great day!

Recently I had a discussion with a friend, saying he doesn't care whether Google et a. got his data or not. What should they do? He would not be of interest to them.

Although I'm privacy-aware, I'm bad at such discussions. I argued with annoying advertisement, which he rejected with "I just won't pay attention to that". Fair point, though someday ads might be more intrusive.

He does not violate law, he is no activist. Arguing with corrupt governments would be a stretch. What would you say?

Hello everybody.
I tried Mastodon half a year ago, because I really liked the concept of the decentralization and I am trying to get away from the big corporations, but failed miserably, so now I am trying again. I hope this time it makes click in my head.
Somethings about me, I am a 17 year old interested in tech, linux, OSS, servers and coding. I started using linux roughly a year ago and would describe myself as a beginner to intermediate user.
So yeah, thats about it :D

How do you type on a PC Keyboard?

Hi everyone! I'm a casual programmer and tech enthusiast hoping to get more involved in the FOSS world. I've been a FOSS user for quite a while and I think it's about time I started contributing to the community.

My main social media is Reddit but I'm trying to explore more privacy-friendly alternatives. Never been a big Twitter guy and hope Mastodon can change my mind.

My other interests include philosophy, math, and history. Hoping to get to know everyone better!

I really really disdain the podcasts that go spotify exclusive. I bet there's good money in it, no doubt but it's still selling out

No matter how many opinions there are about vs , I like the fact that we all play in the same FOSS-sandbox. ✌️

Mastodon is just too complex. Someone please help with good tutorials. I am embarrassed to ask this.😣

This is just to check in how much interest there is in the following:

Would you like to see Tails to run on mobile phones such as the ?
(boost also counts as a yes)

What's Tails?
Tails a portable operating system that protects your privacy and helps you avoid censorship.
