Does anyone know how to contact LibreMusicProduction.com?
The site got hacked (now occasionally serves spam links, and does who knows what else), and their contact form was taken down.
(I hate to start a boost chain, but this is somewhat important. #pleaseboost)
has penned a letter to the Federal Trade Commission that details its concerns over big tech companies’ dominance. The letter specifically calls out Amazon and Google for their control over the majority of…
Just a little reminder, folks. We still have some stickers left.
The new #raspberrypi4 has be thinking of setting up a cluster similar to this and learning #kubernetes. Maybe only two pis to start to keep budget low. For nextcloud setup, does anyone have experience running via Docker?
The new Raspberry Pi 4 is here !!!!!
Anyone else looking at purchasing a new #raspberrypi4 ? I think USB 3.0 ports and gigabit internet will actually be a big performance boost over my rpi2. Maybe I'll finally set up nextcloud and move my mumble instance off of aws.
Google's Captcha is one of the worst trackers out there - because you have to use it even if you refuse to use Google: https://kevv.net/you-probably-dont-need-recaptcha/
Fortunately, Tutanota is completely Google-free! 😃😍 https://tutanota.com/blog/posts/open-source-email
Little known fact! Most email services are hosted in the cloud.
More precisely in The Oort cloud; which is about 40 light weeks or so away. That’s why unsubscribing takes so long. #tmyk
The same person also recommended Algo VPN. It's a set of Ansible scripts that you can point at a VPS and it'll set up your own VPNs. There is WireGuard, IPSEC, script for adding/removing users, adblocking with local DNS, it generates Apple profiles for automatic configuration of iOS/macOS.
As always, before getting a VPN or setting one up, read about what they're really meant for and how they should be used. VPNs don't provide anonymity. They don't increase your privacy x1000. Here are a couple of resources I recommend reading.
We’re now on Mastodon 2.9, which comes with the new single column layout.
New users will get the new layout, but existing users will need to switch.
You can switch between the single and multi column layouts by going to Settings > Preferences > Appearance then enabling/disabling the “Advanced Web Interface”.
Another simple script to backup #KeePassXC password file quickly, here is a script I run with my other backup tasks:
KEEPASS="<Folder to KeePassXC kdbx file>"
cp "$KEEPASS/pdb.kdbx" "$KEEPASS/$(date "+%F").kdbx.bak"
This way I have a daily backup which is then backed up offsite 😃
We've got a pad with games, participants, and rules linked below
And here's a poll to figure out the best days!
So far it looks like the 11th and 18th work for the most people; they're Tuesdays
We've got a few FLOSS options, some free but proprietary listings, and a bunch of paid games so there's something for everyone
If you don't see one you want to play, feel free to add it in alphabetical order and list yourself under it!
