Which in my opinion should be commonplace practice.

If you try the examples from that website, you'll notice that you don't have to hit enter for them to be executed!

Maybe that's what the author meant when they talked about zsh fixing the issue, my bad.

@VikingKong Good to bear in mind and something I’ve often been guilty of as I’m still somewhat a Linux noob. I certainly try to get into the habit of typing out commands and understanding the syntax before pressing enter.
