I want to start sharing some videos of my drumming adventures (and other random acts of music), but I don't really want them on that public cesspool of toxicity known as YouTube.
I don't NEED them publicly discoverable. I just want to share them with my friends here.
Is #Peertube the right choice, or something else?
@AdamBishop @tilvids Heck yea, I use it for @thunderbird! I just assumed the content there should steer more towards tech and educational videos.
@killyourfm @AdamBishop @tilvids @thunderbird I am pretty sure your videos would fit well on TILvids.
If you check the "About" section, you'll see that "Music" is one of the tags shown.
@ProfessorCode @killyourfm @AdamBishop @thunderbird
Yeah, we're super happy to be able to host the Thunderbird videos on the site!
As for music content, I typically discourage it, since it falls out of scope from our edutainment mission on #tilvids Not that I have anything wrong at all with music (drummers of the world unite @killyourfm !)
I really want to start other #peertube instances up for other types of communities, but I can barely manage the one as it is. Too many hobbies...
@tilvids @killyourfm @AdamBishop My bad!
I am just curious, though. Why not just expand TILvids to include those categories as well? Wouldn't that reduce your maintenance burden?
Are you also a drummer? Hell yea!
Regarding music-focused PeerTube instances, there are a few but none of them give me that warm fuzzy feeling that TILVids does ;-)
