@PINE64 hell...forgot that was the size of notebooks...
@TecnoChango To be fair, this particular behemoth (Toshiba Satellite 1905-S277) was massive even by 2002 standards. But it wasn't *that* far out of the realm of normal...
@PINE64 I imagine...as far as I remember
@PINE64 I think I knew someone who had that very Toshiba laptop. Yes, technology has improved a lot since then.
@PINE64 They are both sweeties. I do miss actual buttons for the trackpad, though.
@PINE64 That Toshiba is a biiiiiig laptop, hot damn
@PINE64 but the Pinebook Pro doesn't have cool external media playback buttons so you can use your laptop as a jam box...
@PINE64 I had a Satellite 2410 (2003 model IIRC) and I would really like to see some vertical screen real estate return again. I don't miss lugging around a 7 pound laptop though!
@PINE64 Can't wait for mine! thanks for the pics! :)
@PINE64 well it's 8 years old. It doesn't sound like a good competition to show the Pine is a current device of you need to compare to a dino. 😉
@rakor I believe you dropped a "1" there -- it's 18 years old!
Of course it's not a fair comparison. I just had these machines sitting next to each other and I noticed how comical the size difference is.
@PINE64 your right, typing on the phone isn't fun all the time 😉
Well, none the less I like your work and am waiting for my PinePhone to arrive. 😊
@PINE64 The old one has got harman/kardon speakers - great sound. 😬
@kaffeeringe Are you sure about that? The speakers on mine are the worst I've heard on any laptop ever.
Maybe the previous owner blew them out or something...
@PINE64 They were pretty good back than. And they are on the top and not the bottom
@PINE64 I prefer how Windows XP looked :)
@PINE64 would love to have that taller 4:3 screen space back tho
But the notebook has more connectivity - it has USB, RS232, Parallel, a CD drive and possibly even a floppy drive!
Beefier laptops also tend to have nicer keyboards...
Go ahead and just put one of these in your backpack, then. 😊
Don't tempt me...
