The #Luanti game jam is back for 2024!
Your mission: from Nov 1st to Nov 22nd, make an awesome Luanti game from scratch.
That's 3 weeks, 3 (or more..) winners, and some neat prizes (server hosting! shirts!). Anyone can make games, so give it a shot!
You can find all the information about the jam at https://jam.minetest.net/
Feel free to ask questions on any of the Luanti discussion platforms or this year's forum thread
@Minetest
where can i find documentation?
The official API documentation is at https://api.minetest.net/. You can also find Rubenwardy's Minetest Modding Book listed there, or you can follow this link -> https://rubenwardy.com/minetest_modding_book/.
@Minetest neat!
the "existing games should not be used as a base" rule seems a bit strange. why is that a rule?
i would think that your jam would encourage expanding on existing Open Source content: mods for Exile, mod packs for NodeCore, etc. as long as it's clear what was added during the jam.
The idea is to make a new game with new gameplay for the jam, not a mod. As a game creation platform, these jams are a great opportunity to experiment with new ideas.
We have had mod jams in the past, perhaps there will be some in the future
