I made a thing! 🎉
https://github.com/nileshtrivedi/better
It's a browser extension that recommends "better" alternative products and services via in-page popups, based on community-curated lists. Available for all Chromium and Firefox-based browsers.
We live in times where the distributions costs are hampering the adoption of higher-quality (which could mean security, privacy, ethics, local etc) products. I am hoping that this extension can eventually be managed by orgs like IFF, EFF or FSF.

Sorry for chiming in, but we wanted to say thank you for noticing the progress of Collabora Online. We've got quite positive feed back on our recently released apps for #Android and #iOS. So more hands there supporting the #opensource work... https://www.collaboraoffice.com/press-releases/collabora-office-4-2-0-for-ios-and-android/

The new #RaspberryPi 4 makes a very usable #Nextcloud server for home users. We'd recommend the 2GB or 4GB ram version, though.

@JPEG Good to hear, thanks.
@JPEG Sure. I just wanted to test it more enough, for example I can't see my toots in profile tab, think it's a bug.
In general it has a great UX and a Clean intuitive UI.
@JPEG I have bought it just today and I loved its UI.
One of the biggest Open Source missing points is the good looking UI.
Thanks for such app.
Mast 1.7.3 is here and it’s better than ever. It’s also discounted at $0.99/£0.99 for a limited time too! ✌️
ProtonMail also encrypts messages at rest, which prevents us from being able to decrypt your inbox. This provides both better privacy and security as your unencrypted messages can't be shared with third parties nor stolen from us: https://protonmail.com/blog/zero-access-encryption/
We're very happy to say that we just put out our second round of project donations. This time around, both @elementary and @letsencrypt received $100 each.
You can read more about it here:

@randynose Thanks! I hope to be able to attract some scientific/academic crowd to the fediverse. I haven't done any promotion yet, partly because I want to fill the instance with as much content as I can get to make it more usable, partly because of time constraints 😅 phd life...
