@Madiator2011Gaming depends where you get your games: but definitely an Ubuntu derivative since that's where most people are and where you'll have the least amount of problems. I don't have much experience with gaming on GNU/Linux since I need W$ for pirated games anyways (yes I know it's bad, but I don't have 200$ to spend on DLCs per game I already own but is unplayable without them).
@Madiator2011Gaming I have a very similar rig and I'm running Debian testing with MATE DE. I have issues with having a windowed game running + watching videos in Firefox. I haven't figured out the cause.
Other than that, I haven't had any problems. I use Lutris and Steam, and play games with WINE as well as native.
