@zleap thank you for your effort to support, develop and spread greatness of LibreOffice to people it is very useful.
KDE Plasma powers the desktop of the Valve #SteamDeck.
Congrats Valve for releasing #SteamDeck! Thank you for choosing Plasma!
I can’t believe I’m having to write this code in a fucking web server. What a mockery of the web, human rights, and the GDPR.
Fuck you, Google!

Periodic PSA for IT folk: Don't berate the users you support for not knowing something. Do not make them feel lesser for making mistakes.
Did you know/realize that their experience with you supporting them can also colour their personal experience with computers?
Take the time to explain what's gone wrong and *if* the problem turns out to be user, brush it off as an "easy mistake" for anyone to make and continue to explain how to do the thing the right way.
Somebody posted the logo design doc they made for 2008’s Pepsi cola redesign and … I had no idea. It’s conspiracy-theory levels of wildly unbalanced thought. Incredible stuff: https://www.goldennumber.net/wp-content/uploads/pepsi-arnell-021109.pdf
Today we released LibreOffice 7.1.2 – the second bugfix update to the 7.1 branch. But what are the big new features in the LibreOffice 7.1 family? Check out this video for an overview... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLutwM8XKvo
How's your new year's resolution going?
If it's not going well, is this still something you'd like to work on. Maybe turn it to a yearly theme?
Year of health sounds a lot more palatable than Get Into Shape(tm).
Year of distillation sounds better than Get Into Minimalism(tm).
Year to bloom sounds a lot better than Try New Things(tm).
Whatever it is, I wish you luck! <3

... I would feel a bit hypocritical if I then employed whatever talents I do have advancing the goals of an organization I actively dislike.
I'd prefer to continue not naming names, at least in part because one has an account on the fediverse and could easily see this. The other would never, as it's antithetical to their business model. You can imagine which is which.
To complicate things slightly:
The salary isn't about just me. There are 3 other people who live off it. I have to consider them.
The less cool org has way more people, way bigger budget, and some rather mouth-watering tech at least in the elite corners of their org. That cuts both ways, though. I went to school with a brilliant physicist-in-training - frankly the best student we had - and I was very disappointed in him to learn he squandered it on the finance sector. I'm not on his level, but
In the job search there's 2 strong leads (passed first interview).
One is an organization I respect and believe in their mission. Occasionally someone asks from whom I work, and I'd be proud to answer if I worked for them. I'd also be happy to explain what they do and why, if someone's unfamiliar (most are).
The other org - everyone is familiar with it. And their mission is garbage. I have refused to use their products even when it hurt my social life.
How much salary diff is that worth?
Using Linux when blind, looking for recommendation
OK, #blind #Linux enthusiasts: If I have a VMware Workstation running on Windows 10 at my disposal and want to use it to install a Linux distro just to play with it a bit and get a feel for the current state of accessibility, which distribution do you recommend? Which desktop? GNOME, KDE, MATE? Something else? Go! :-)

I am a real human, just like you and other ordinary humans.
