@ataraxia937 I've also heard from others that additional instances silenced/blocked us, but no specific names

@ataraxia937 scholar.social silenced us. Here is a link to their toot and a transcription of it:

> The instance at fosstodon.org has been silenced from scholar.social

You can still follow anyone from there, but their admin has explicitly abdicated responsibility for the conduct of their users, including the use of slurs

I'm staying on Fosstodon whether I agree or disagree with what Kev said. I'm here because I wanted to be a part of a community around one of my passions.

Thats why this place exists. There are people from all different walks... lets show grace towards each other, even if we disagree.

Some of you guys scream inclusion (which I strongly support) but in the same breath troll someone who disagrees with you on a issue.

Lets show grace, tone down being self-absorbed and keep it focused on FOSS.

@mooshoe It simply cannot happen on the internet unfortunately :(

Any social media/forum I've been on has its share of toxic users.

@stevenroose This is the first toot about the "drama" I've made because I do not care about it. Simply ignoring it saves you stress and time, people.

I would much rather be tooting and reading toots about FOSS and technology, which is what I have decided to do.

If anything, the uproar about it kind of proves @kev's point. It was literally one toot.

@kk Agreed. Instance admins should not be making choices for everyone part of their instance.

@sergiotarxz @cassidyjames Not Cassidy James but when you go to the website you can buy it but you can just change the amount in the custom payment box to 0 if you do not want to pay.

>elementary OS sucks

Aww, I'm sorry you feel that way, can you explain what you didn't like and maybe we can improve it?

>I want to fundamentally change how the entire OS works and throw all your design work out of the window and it's not as easy as I'd like.

>I use Arch btw

15 years ago, EFF's @doctorow told Microsoft:

1. That DRM systems don't work

2. That DRM systems are bad for society

3. That DRM systems are bad for business

4. That DRM systems are bad for artists

5. That DRM is a bad business-move

He was right.

Sometimes, the moonlight will:
- draw a footpath on the water. If you walk it, it will cut you. Dance.
- forge a sword on the rocks. If you can pick it up, you'll know what to do.
- leave a ribbon for your lover's hair. If you tie it on, they can untie it.
- simply shine. On you.

"Chrome is faster than Firefox"

No, Google has purposely crippled Firefox to gain an anti-competitive advantage that positions Google in the top spot for web dominance.
