Kinda makes me want to look into a documentary or podcast talking about the history and rise of OBS and its derivatives...

It's really cool to me that the open source community seems to have won in video streaming software.

Seems like it would have been a field dominated by tech giants...

@cuniculus @tinfoil-hat yeah. My hosting solution provides 128kb of upload, so hosting a third of that locally for a single request is a bit difficult.

@cuniculus @tinfoil-hat and yet, its not for me.

Free solutions are free solutions after all.

Cant handle a family gathering? SSH into your home box and play dwarf fortress like a boss

This is the kind of website I strive to design one day poolside.fm

Essentially, 100 days of short and simple blog posts

@tinfoil-hat moreover, CDNs are necessary due to the hosting solution im utilizing. Bandwidth concerns and what not.

Moreover, IMO its an evil im willing to trade to utilize a CDN solution for a well supported and utilized open source CSS library. (Although, I will have to consider finding a non-cloudflare provider).

Jquery is also required (unless im mistaken) by bootstrap 4.

@tinfoil-hat lots of that is left from a previous build. Im working on a rebuild atm, as ive only jumped on the privacy train recently.

My git (if you viewed it) is also using software that may utilize some of them, but im not bothered enough to switch it. Yet.

For some reason, Gmail has stopped accepting my PGP emails.

Hmmm.... maybe its time to switch to protonmail after all.

Please consider writing your hashtags in upper camelcase so screen readers have a chance at figuring them out.

#whyistayonmastodon sounds like an giant undecipherable mess of sounds.

#WhyIStayOnMastodon reads out "Why I Stay On Mastodon" 😄

(Reason #44 I stay here: my previous requests like this have been generally well-received, proving that most people are awesome.)

In light of Pridefall (vice.com/en_us/article/7kpbba/) and local concern, I'm running a workshop for a local queer organization on internet and safety later this week.

I'm already covering things like ad tracking and "the big 3," as well as phishing sites and chain/group emails/messages. I've also got time set aside for checking SSL certs and VPN safety concerns.

Aside from things like switching to the fediverse and using privacy respecting alternatives, what should I cover?

Had my first proper play session of dwarf fortress. Started digging down and planning out my fort. I'm Still not entirely sure what my end goal for this fortress is yet. Kinda tempted to "run the worlds largest tavern."

Not sure I should try to have an end goal on my first fortress.

Thank god for Lutris. I was able to get Diablo 2 working in a mere minute.
