The problem with having a half mile long water line in the Texas Blackland Prairie is our black clay shrinks when it dries and swells when it gets wet. Something similar to a frost heave. We have a water leak and a $340 water bill. I've found it, which is hard enough with a week full of rain, and now I have to dig and bail to fix it in this wet, sticky clay. No rest for the weary.
