The only negative thing I have observed in my quest to run on a phone is that in the open store, there are apps for using gmail and fb. Seems foreign to me to use them when my whole purpose in persuing this is to get away from these predatory services. To each his own.

@DistroJunkie I saw they were Web apps. Not sure how different the function or yips compared to native apps.

@Trumpy
No matter what the app, it's sad to me that people who are free from these predatory services would willingly accept them. We all have our own walk.

@DistroJunkie that is true. I would prefer floss apps but I'll admit there are some I find hard to go without, discord being one.

@Trumpy
We all pick our poisons and vices. I don't have much room to talk.

@DistroJunkie I would be worried if apps specifically for interacting with proprietary services were installed by default, but I don't see anything negative about offering them in the store. Your purpose for running Ubuntu Touch might be to get away from those services, but others might have entirely different goals, and it would be a shame if those could not enjoy the benefits of Ubuntu Touch.

@DistroJunkie How is your experience with Ubuntu Touch as an mobile OS thus far?

@fatboy
The OS itself works fine. I'm having a few issues that I'm slowly working out. My current issues are getting Matrix and Telegram running. And then, for some reason that I haven't nailed down yet, uNav does not see my GPS. That is the only showstopper at the moment. I can talk, text, and surf to my heart's content.
