People that have degoogled, what do you use for your photo management? I think I'd miss Google Photos the most of any Google service.

Brett @DelusionalAI

@joseph I'm in the same boat. I've degoogled a lot of my life, but not Google Photos. The service is just so useful. I was going to look at for sharing photos and stuff as I already have a plex server, but then i wont have the photo search..

@DelusionalAI I would miss the automated videos and gifs. I know a lot of people think they're gimmicky, but I actually like them - especially when they're randomly made of videos I took a couple of years ago. It's like a nice reminder of the past.

@DelusionalAI so which services have you been able to replace so far?

@joseph
Gmail -> ProtonMail. Contacts, calendar, drive -> Nextcloud. Google -> DuckDuckGO.

@DelusionalAI @joseph I've never really used Google photo, so can't really comment on that. I tend to just use the stock gallery app, and my photos auto-backup yo nextcloud.

@kev @DelusionalAI do you manually organize your photos or just keep them all together?

@joseph @DelusionalAI the nextcloud app automatically sorts them by year and month.
