If you want to learn more about #opensource licenses, what they allow you to do and the various differences, I just made a nice recap covering the biggest ones, and licenses that don't apply to code specifically, check it out:

@ru your last post about smartphones doesn't mention the price you paid for the iPhone 13, would you be able to add it? I don't know if my RSS reader will pick up the update though ^^"

I just noticed "foreach" on npm is controlled by a single maintainer.

I also noticed they let their personal email domain expire, so I bought it before someone else did.

I now control "foreach" on NPM, and the 36826 projects that depend on it.

1. Buy expired NPM maintainer email domains.
2. Re-create maintainer emails
3. Take over packages
4. Submit legitimate security patches that include package.json version bumps to malicious dependency you pushed
5. Enjoy world domination.

Hm, client is concerned a 4096bit PGP encryption key isn't secure enough. They want me to put the file into a password protected Zip file and then PGP encrypt it.

Ummm, OK. 🙄

My wife (supposedly) spent over two hours trying to print something last night after I went to bed. Today it took me less than two minutes to get the prints working for her on the same computer. She's pretty computer savvy too.

I think that the real lesson here is computers fear me.

Gabriel :python: :django: boosted

@Mundon The true lesson is that after all these years, printing is still the work of the Devil.

Hi cycling people :) I installed and maintain a free bicycle repair station on a cycle lane near were we live (rural Denmark).

Am always interested in what cycling service infrastructure is available elsewhere, so if you have something: share it here! :-)

If you find yourself responding to a bug report by saying it's not a bug, that they're just doing it wrong... it's very likely that you indeed have a bug. Or a UI/UX problem. Or both.

@kev can you imagine this in other industries.. "What you don't remodel your house every weekend? Do you not have a passion for carpentry?"

Gabriel :python: :django: boosted

This is what's wrong with the tech industry. The expectation that one should give their free time *EVERY DAY* or you're somehow "not passionate".

My response to that would be fuck you and your shitty fucking culture.

My kids and family are FAR more important to me than your ridiculous expectations.

Hi there! I'm Dani, usually known as Sancas among friends and on social media. I'm spanish, so probably I will dual-language post.

I've been a software developer for about 13 years. Half of that time in web development (mostly with ), and the last years as a data engineer (mostly with , and a bit of ).

I'm a non-hardcore user. I'm really comfortable with , but not too mad about tinkering too much with it 😅

Nice to join this community! 🙌
