Hi there!
Happy to join mastodon and one of the FOSS communities. I’m a Python developer. I probably won’t toot on a regular basis but that might happen 🤷🏻‍♂️
I go by he/him.

See you!

📔 New blog post: June and July 2021 in review.

A quickly-written personal review of what happened in June and July 2021.

@daisuke heyo! 👋🏻 I’m having trouble with Numi, I tried invoking her powers two times but I didn’t get any reply 😿

I read the man at and tried following the bot before retrying but no luck (see my previous two toots).

Did I do something wrong? 😊

Hello @Gargron 😊 I’m currently trying the official iOS app, good job here! 👍🏻👍🏻
Just curious, I’m looking for the local and federated timelines, am I missing something or maybe that’s for a future release? I couldn’t find a list of implemented features and not-yet-implemented ones 😊

@aral I learned quite a few interesting things about reading your post. Thanks! Especially for the discovery of Tide. It’s really awesome! And abbreviations of course 😃

8 years ago, my digital life was almost entirely stored in Google data centers.

Today, I self-host a handful of services on a Raspberry Pi on my LAN and use privacy-friendly services. Small tech feels good.

I wrote a few words about the moving process 👀

cc @aral: I'm a big fan of your work. I donated to the Small Tech foundation recently, and you + Laura are an inspiration in this space. Keep up the great work!

When you write hashtags, remember to use CamelCase (where each word has a capital letter).

This makes it much easier for blind and partially-sighted people's screen reader apps to read the hashtag out loud, and makes your message much more accessible.

For example #DogsOfMastodon is easier for a screen reader to say out loud than #dogsofmastodon, as CamelCase makes it obvious where the words are.

For newbies, I used to be IT manager / sysadmin to a fully non-profit. Came here for the tech talk, stayed for the people. ❤️ Now I just post about nerdstuff, cats, bouldering, the occasional existential crisis, memes, etc. Just got back from a 91 day digital detox.

For the rest of you; what's up guys, how are you all doing, what did I miss?? 😁😁

Just came back, it was really beautiful! The people are really nice over there ☺️☺️

Thanks for your suggestions 😊

Netizens of EU, I need your help.

After having received my second vaccine in France, I was issued a QR code. To my surprise, it was imported into the app with a single scan, but an independent app (on fdroid) required a TAN code before importing the QR.

In fact, the Technical Specs of GDC [1] mandates apps to require a 2nd factor, preferably a TAN.

None was issued to me. Is FR not compliant with spec?

What was this process like for you?

1. That can't happen.
2. That doesn't happen on my machine.
3. That shouldn't happen.
4. Why does that happen?
5. Oh, I see.
6. How did that ever worked?

@celia hello! I noticed you opened a ticket about a month ago on cleantoots [1]. I figured you maybe haven’t received a notification when I replied in the thread so that’s why I’m contacting you here 😊

Or maybe you just haven’t had time for that, in which case you can disregard my message! 🙂
