Here are the top data services I'd love to see come to the fediverse next year:
- OpenLibrary. https://openlibrary.org/ . A great collection of books, movies, audio, other.
- OpenStreetMap. https://www.openstreetmap.org/ We need a good `Place` vocabulary, and OSM has a great one.
- MusicBrainz. https://musicbrainz.org/ A great way to represent `Audio` objects cross-service. The best music encyclopedia on the planet.
- Wikidata. https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Main_Page For, well, everything else.
@evan What sort of use cases would you see these having? Curious what you have in mind.
@Brendanjones OSM for geo-social applications: `Arrive`, `Leave`, `Travel` activities, plus the `location` element of other activities or content objects.
MB and OL for media experience activities like `Listen`, `View`, `Read`. So, `Evan read Doppelganger` or `Evan listened to A Little Respect by Erasure`.
Wikidata for these and, like, a million other uses.
