Huzzah! Bluetooth AND Sensor support on the TicWatch C2+! It actually can function as a smart watch now!
Just got myself a Huawei Watch for 50€. First thing I did is to install #AsteroidOS onto it :)
Let's see what this thing can do!
#AsteroidOS Sync our #android client has a new version out on @fdroidorg : https://f-droid.org/en/packages/org.asteroidos.sync/
Version 0.20 brings:
- A completely new Bluetooth backend. This should fix most issues people had with the initial connection and constant repairing.
- We modularized and restructured the codebase to make the development of new functions easier.
- Improved translations
postmarketOS is finally coming to wearables

I managed to make my ramblings from this weekend into a somewhat cohesive video: https://odysee.com/@ZacTheRipper/FiresideChat-ReflashingAsteroidOS #foss #asteroidos #linux
Did you know #postmarketOS supports a few smartwatches? Well, now you do!
However, up till now we didn't have a proper UI for them. Since I put a lot of work in the Mer stack to get it running for #Glacier, it was only a few more packages to get #AsteroidOS up and running on #postmarketOS as well!
Merge request coming in real soon!
A watch that displays unix time?
Wait no longer!
@chandlerswift tinkered with #AsteroidOS:
Took me a while, but I recently actually remembered to order a new battery for my old G Watch R, and I installed it yesterday. Now running @AsteroidOS on it, which I've wanted to play with for ages. Certainly a lot more responsive than WearOS on the old thing.
I've missed this watch, I really like the feel of it on my wrist.
