@AntennaPod I discovered AntennaPod only recently and am really enjoying it. Is the support forum the best place for questions?
@cetan
Happy to hear
The forum is indeed the best place – there our whole community can jump in. (Though if you have a quick question, we might be able to help you here as well.)
@AntennaPod probably not quick but here goes: I can no longer resume playback from the lock screen. Version 3.1.2 of the App and Android 13 on an LG V60. It worked when I first installed the app (don't remember which version though). I'm hesitant to remove and reinstall (even with backup) for fear of losing data but if that's required to fix, I will plan for it.
@AntennaPod oh, I think I just found the bug being tracked. Is this the issue? https://github.com/AntennaPod/AntennaPod/issues/6576
@cetan
It looks like you're affected by the following issue indeed:
https://github.com/AntennaPod/AntennaPod/issues/6576
Unfortunately that will only be fixed after we have upgraded the 'media library' (piece of software embedded in our app), which is a big endeavour. As a workaround, you could activate the AntennaPod 'tile', next to (for example) your WiFi, torch and airplane mode tiles.
For further questions/thoughts on this topic, probably best to chip in on the forum.
@AntennaPod thanks! I will check out the forums and try the tile. Other than that issue, I really like the flexibility and functionality of the app.
@AntennaPod tile works great! Thanks for the help!
@AntennaPod I have been using it for years, every night I play some podcasts. It's the perfect app!
@AntennaPod been using AntennaPod for a while now and it's fantastic.
@rysiek @AntennaPod Agree. Only problem: as my system language is Finnish, I get the sharing link texts in Finnish, which is often... suboptimal.
@AntennaPod @rysiek The translation is good, but usually I am sharing podcasts in English or Ukrainian, and I prefer to have the text in English.
I have been using @AntennaPod for probably 8 years now. From time to time I check out the alternatives in case there's something exciting I'm missing, but nothing ever measures up to AntennaPod.
In particular in the last two years I feel that continual quality-of-life improvements here and there have made an already solid app even better!
@AntennaPod I've switched from Podcast Addict about three years ago and haven't looked back. Thanks.
@AntennaPod I have been using player.fm and love it especially that it is synchronized across devices. I know I can cobble that together myself for antennapod but where can I get a tutorial to learn my options?
@IThink You'll find some more information about synchronization in the documentation section of our website: https://antennapod.org/documentation/general/synchronization
And if you need practical support, then you might want to reach out to the community on our forum.
Hope that helps!
@AntennaPod is awesome! Migrated a few months ago and never looked back :)
Thank you so much!
Great app, used it for years, nothing comes close
@AntennaPod besides the list of subscriptions, does the OPML also contain the other library entries (history and queue in particular) or would I need to rebuild them manually? That's the main reason I haven't switched players yet...
Hi @waldyrious
Sorry for the delayed answer. The OPML file only contains your subscriptions – the episodes, listening status and queue are not included. As far as we are aware, Google does not allow you to export that data, so you would need to start afresh in that sense (this applies to any other app than Google's). Quite unfortunate, and we understand your hesitation to switch!
@AntennaPod thanks for the reply! I understand that this is not something that other apps can control. I guess I'll have to rebuild my queue by hand :(
