Posting from Tuba on #postmarketos ! hi!
I made a game!
It's a short 90's style point and click adventure, inspired by a background by @lashman
You're famous Luxembourgish detective, Poirmento. You've gathered all the suspects in the library and are just about to reveal who the dastardly murderer is, when you suffer a sudden bout of memory loss!
You must figure out who everyone is, what's happened and who committed the crime, all without letting on that you have no idea what the last three days held.
It's available for Windows, Mac and Linux on Itch: https://elleo.itch.io/poirmento
It's also available as a Snap for Linux: https://snapcraft.io/poirmento
The astronauts aboard the ISS were amazed by the April 8 solar eclipse, just like the rest of us, and went crazy snapping photos from orbit.
They got some amazing views of the Moon's shadow sweeping across southern Canada & Maine, seen from 420 km (261 miles) above: https://www.flickr.com/photos/nasa2explore/with/53645140833 #space #eclipse #space #astronomy
The eclipse was crazy!!! #Eclipse2024
swift.org is on FIRE recently! Another great post about #Swift in unusual places
Hello Fediverse,
We are looking for Text-To-Speak (TTS) expertise to help or advise us on improving the default voice of the Linux desktop.
Please reach out or boost
Thanks!
Pretty wild to me that the mobile platform that has majority market share in the US, doesn’t allow users to install apps from outside of their own tightly-controlled store, requires all purchases to be served through that store with a platform fee, doesn’t allow users to sideload their own apps, doesn’t allow entire categories of apps like browser engines and game streaming, and doesn’t even allow users to set their own preferred apps in many cases is not a monopoly… but Android somehow is??
I'm happy to report that thanks in part to my efforts (but mostly thanks to TingPing doing tons of up-front work, feaneron's constant help, and employees using Linux internally):
Discord is now verified on Flathub
It's been about a week, so I decided to add a settings page instead of choosing... but still id like the feedback of other people and if you have ideas for a 5th or even 6th animation type! @Daudix I think this could interest you since I saw your blog CSS posts recently
For those who are curious, this is for a school project and this uses React + Framer-motion.
The current default (my favorite)
The dislike animation has a random angle of 40 degrees (20 to the right or left) and a scale down. The like animation has the same angle but a scale up.
When you cancel the vote for both, the hand shakes to indicate that the vote was removed
Which one is the best?
I need help! I cannot decide which animation looks the best. There are 4 variants that I can use, but I need to choose one. I have added the numbers to refer to in the videos ALT text.
Poll below
#design #WebDesign #animation #uidesign #react #webdev
Boosts are appreciated!
More people need to know about the "tabular numbers" feature that modern fonts have
Use it to make numbers to line up with a UI font (or anything not monospace)
CSS: font-feature-settings: tnum
SwiftUI: .font(.body.monospacedDigit())
Hey Fediverse! I just released #Multiplex, an app to watch torrents together. It provides an experience similar to Apple's SharePlay and Amazon's Prime Video Watch Party, except for any #torrent instead of a specific streaming service. Thanks to #WebRTC, it doesn't require a server to sync playback, and can use a gateway if a viewer can't use BitTorrent. It's written in #Go for #GNOME; check it out on GitHub (https://github.com/pojntfx/multiplex) or install it from Flathub: https://flathub.org/apps/com.pojtinger.felicitas.Multiplex ^^
Several years in the making, GitLab is now very actively implementing #ActivityPub!
https://gitlab.com/groups/gitlab-org/-/epics/11247
The end-goal is to support AP for merge requests (aka pull requests), meaning git.alice.dev can send a merge request to gitlab.com/Bob/project.git
First bite-sized todo on the implementation path there is ‘subscribe to project releases’.
Smart move by #GitLab; through ActivityPub they’re getting a distributed version of GitHub’s social layer.
1) Android --> macOS:
* WarpShare. This app uses Apple's AirDrop protocol, so you don't have to install anything on your Mac (you do need to set AirDrop discoverability to "everyone" though). You do have to install the WarpShare app on your phone, though, and then select it from the share sheet when sharing file(s). Does not support receiving files on Android.
